In Mississippi, there are five Baptist-affiliated hospitals with more than 1,000 licensed beds. Hospitals in Columbus, Oxford, Southaven, New Albany and Booneville offer a variety of services, including 24-hour emergency care.
Four hospitals offer labor and delivery services and three have neurosurgery and open-heart surgery services. Several of these hospitals also operate sleep disorders centers and offer cancer services and hospice care.
Although each is affiliated with Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp., each hospital is governed by its own board of directors and locally administered to help the hospital stay attuned to community needs.
